NAP of the Day: Thursday 23rd November

NAP of the day

BetVictor sponsor two races on a good day at Thurles tomorrow. The card sees representation from all the big yards with Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead all having runners.

Elsewhere we have action at Market Rasen, Wincanton and Newcastle over jumps whilst Wolverhampton is your late all weather card today.

Nap Of The Day

Thurles is the venue for my best bet of the day, and it comes in the BetVictor Proud To Support Irish Racing EBF Novice Hurdle and this looks a good contest. Six go to post with John McConnell duel- handed with Chance The Robin and Moon D’Orange, a couple of mares in Glendard Mahler and Sarah Beara plus last time out winners Getaway Charlie and Will Do.

The NAP will come from Gordon Elliott’s yard who have been ticking over well in the last few weeks. The profile of Will Do is an interesting one, starting with his only run in a point to point where he finished fourth. The first, second, third and fifth all went on to win races under rules. Sadly Snake Roll the second is no longer with us but the quality of that sets a decent level.

His first start for the current yard came in a fair maiden hurdle at Punchestown where he was second to Monbeg Park, now rated 137 after three bumper runs where he was never out the first three in the finish facing the likes of Fact To File and Tullyhill. He returned to hurdling last month at Sligo where he stayed on in good fashion to break his maiden over hurdles over just slightly further than today’s trip. Will Do, I expect to win today and go on to make up into a graded performer in time.

Frankie Enters The Jungle Finally

After his semi-retirement which has seen him set to spend the Winter racing in America Frankie Dettori has a new challenge for the next few weeks having entered the I’m A Celebrity jungle. Dettori who is no stranger to reality TV having been in Big Brother previously, will aim to follow in the footsteps of BetVictor brand ambassador Harry Redknapp who claimed the King Of The Jungle title back in 2018.

The current betting doesn’t suggest Frankie is a likely winner with three campmates significantly shorter than the 13/2 on offer for the Italian to win. You can see the full market right here.

Race Of The Day

BetVictor sponsor the opening race on the card at Thurles and whilst it’s not the strongest betting heat, the face has an intriguing favourite in Klassical Dream who makes his first start over fences in this Beginners Chase. The 2019 Supreme Novice winner at the Cheltenham Festival has had a curious career since winning that grade one race. Three times a winner at the Punchestown Festival in the Champion Stayers race nine feels a late start to life over fences but given he is trained by Willie Mullins it would be no shock to see this former high-class hurdler take top rank in some of the better novice chase races over a trip this season.

Tomorrow at Thurles he starts out over two miles six and on paper faces just two rivals that can trouble him. Gold Bullion trained by Henry De Bromhead was third on his first chase start at Listowel, this very lightly raced seven-year-old could be the one to trouble Klassical Dream, the alternative danger is Digby who was a five length second to Flanking Maneuver at Fairyhouse last month. In truth this race on paper looks set to be the ideal introduction to fences for Klassical Dream and it may be a race you want to consider using the lengthen the odds feature on the BetVictor site to find any value. Either way it’s my race of the day to see how the 160 rated hurdler takes to fences in the Download The BetVictor App Beginners Chase at 12.10.
